How the game works

Any game’s page is open to anyone. To see the whole market and trade, you sign in with your email address and choose a public username. Each season you get one portfolio of play-money credits. Trades use the current price with a spread and a fee, both in play money. Limits apply, such as how much of your portfolio one game can make up and how many trades you can make in a minute.

We can pause or close trading at any time, for one game or for the whole market. While it is closed, nothing can be bought or sold.

Credits are not money

Credits are play money with no cash value. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or withdrawn. You cannot deposit or withdraw real money. You cannot lose real money on Vidstonks.

Credits are used only to buy and sell virtual shares within the game. A share gives you no ownership of, or claim on, a game, its developer or its publisher.

Vidstonks may also add play-money credits to your portfolio, such as a dividend on each game's shares once a week. These are paid by Vidstonks under rules we can change or stop at any time, not by any game, developer or publisher, and owning a share gives you no right to them.

Prices

Prices derive from Steam concurrent-player counts. They are not a valuation of any game and are not investment advice.

Prices include a small demand margin from players' net buying, always smaller than the spread and fees of a round trip.
